Bodybuilding Workout tips for muscle growth

If you’re new to bodybuilding and want to enhance your looks, here are few tips on bodybuilding workouts that can help you improve a lot. Don’t expect amazing improvements over night, but definitely gaining  muscle mass will grow over time. It’s important to have patience, stick to your diet and workouts, and results will definitely follow.

1. Stick only to Free Weights.

These days, gyms have a form of shiny and fancy machines that cannot help you in building a solid foundation of muscle mass. Barbells and dumbbells are the best when it comes to building muscles and especially for beginners.

2. Rely on Compound Movements.

While you may want to try all possible workouts you see on fitness websites and magazines, you should first stick to basic movements. Exercises such as deadlifts, squat, the military shoulder press, and the barbell bench press should not miss from your daily routine.

3. Have a Solid Program and Try to Stick to it.

You just cannot go to a gym and do whatever you feel like. Your bodybuilding workouts should be in the form of a strict routine and you need to follow it closely. Ask for an advanced bodybuilder or a personal trainer to provide you with a program that includes the exercises, number of reps and sets you need. Once you’re in a gym, you should know exactly what you need to do in your training session.

4. Don’t Sweat Out Every Day.

If you’re working with a trained instructor who knows his job, your routine would include 3-4 workout days a week. As a beginner, there is no need to train more often than that. You can spend other days to rest and recover.

5. Train Each of Your Muscle Groups Every Week.

You won’t get much by spending too many days in the gym with too few workouts. Another good tip on bodybuilding workouts is that you should work each of your muscle groups at least once a week.

6. Learn the Perfect Form of Each Exercise.

While you might want to see how much you can actually lift, you should always start with lower weights and gradually learn the right weight for  each exercise.

7. Gradually Increase your Weights.

Once you understand the right form of every exercise, you should start increasing weights periodically. Keep a close watch on how much you can lift and the slightly increase weight after every two weeks. This will boost strength and will also lead to muscle gain.

9. Eat lots of Good Protein.

One of the easiest tips on bodybuilding workouts is to eat good protein from fish, chicken, dairy products, milk, and eggs. You can also include some vegetables and nuts. Many experts recommend at least one gram of protein for each pound of body weight. You can even add protein shakes.

10. Be Caloric Surplus.

If you want to build muscle, try to eat more calories than you actually burn. You can use an online calorie calculator to find your BMR and then adjust accordingly to see how active you are. If you have a sedentary lifestyle, you will need much fewer calories than if you are very active.

11. Rest and Recover.

Your muscles will grow when you rest. So make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
